How much is the 1916 Bursary worth?

The 1916 Bursary is available at different award levels. The value, duration and number of bursaries available vary depending on the bursary tier. The table below provides an overview of the bursary tiers and the support available under each.

Students awarded a Tier 1 or Tier 2 bursary may continue to receive their bursary as they progress to postgraduate study, subject to the conditions of the Scheme. Tier 3 bursaries, where available, are provided as a once-off payment and are subject to the confirmation of funding.

Tier 3 Bursaries may be available to eligible applicants who meet the criteria for the 1916 Bursary but who do not receive a Tier 1 or Tier 2 award. The availability and number of Tier 3 bursaries for the 2026/27 academic year are subject to confirmation of funding.
