I was a full-time working mother and a lone parent. I had always wanted to be a social care worker. It was a big challenge transitioning from a full-time worker to a full-time student. I wouldn’t have been able to continue this course I was doing if not with the help of the 1916 Bursary. The first few weeks before the bursary was paid was a challenge buying books, paying my rent and bills. The application process was very easy and straightforward.
